The Bank of England has named a new deputy governor for markets and banking, who will hold the prominent role at the central bank as the UK negotiates its exit from the EU.

Charlotte Hogg will succeed Dame Minouche Shafik in the position from March 1 in addition to her current responsibilities as chief operating officer, according to a February 9 statement from HM Treasury and Chancellor Philip Hammond.
