BofA Merrill banker grabs Nomura FIG role

Japanese bank also snares ex-Lehman duo

A former head of the French and Belgian financial institutions group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch is joining Nomura as co-head of FIG across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, while the Japanese bank has added two more ex-Lehman Brothers executives to its growing ranks.

Hubert Bastide, who has run the French and Belgian FIG team since 1996 at Merrill, now part of Bank of America, is switching to Nomura to run the Emea FIG group alongside co-head Giles Harrison, according to a source familiar with the move.
