Marc Gilbard and Graham Stanley, the former UK property analysts at Goldman Sachs, took home investment banking-style bonuses of £1.15m (&euro1.95m) each from their property company Moorfield Group last year.
The bonuses were paid despite the miserable share price performance of Moorfield since they took the helm in January 1996. Moorfield's shares have provided a total return of just 2.1% since they signed up. This is thin gruel compared to the near doubling of Goldman's own price since its float last year.
