Anyone that tries to conceal that they've been in 'red list' country before arriving in the UK faces a 10-year prison sentence

New hotel quarantine requirements for travellers coming into the UK will be enforced with steep fines and prison sentences of up to 10 years for rulebreakers.

Health secretary Matt Hancock told parliament on 9 February that any UK or Irish citizen who had been in one of 33 “red list” countries in the 10 days before travelling to the UK would be required to quarantine in a designated hotel for 10 days on arrival.
