The chances of a UK-EU trade deal being finalised before the end of the year dropped 20% over the weekend, as bettors factored in pessimistic mood music between London and Brussels.

Betting platform Smarkets had put the likelihood of a Brexit deal being agreed at 85% on 4 December, but this dropped to 64.5% by the morning of 7 December.
