With his ‘f*ck business’ comment still ringing in many finance leaders’ ears, some in the City are starting to see the former foreign secretary as a high-risk, high-reward punt

Is the City changing its mind about Boris Johnson? On the basis of a very small and completely unscientific survey of finance leaders I think there has been a shift. Though still nervous about him, a number of senior City figures now say he might be the best of the realistic candidates to replace Theresa May.

This is a remarkable turnaround. A year ago it was hard to find anyone in the City who did not view the prospect of Boris in Number 10 with fear and loathing.
