Prime Minister Boris Johnson has warned the UK could see a third wave of coronavirus infections “wash up on our shores” from Europe, as cases increase on the continent.

EU countries are rapidly vaccinating their adult population to combat rising cases following a temporary suspension of the AstraZeneca vaccine over safety concerns.
