BoS does not see takeover threat

If Bank of Scotland loses the fight for NatWest it does not expect to be a takeover target, reports the Financial Times.

Peter Burt, chief executive of BoS, said that his bank's cost base was too low to make it a target. He said that even the best run UK-wide bank - Lloyds TSB - could do very little to cut BoS costs.
