Bosses of the UK's biggest companies may have bowed to public and shareholder pressure and cut their multi-million pound pay packets in the past year — but those of their mid-sized cousins are still rising.
The average chief executive at a mid-cap FTSE 250 firm received a total pay packet of £1.8m in 2016, according to the latest survey from pay advisory firm FIT Remuneration Consultants, published yesterday. That was 16% more than in 2015.
