Brexit pushes record number of €1m bankers from UK to Europe

The number of EU bankers bringing in seven figures increased by more than 40% in a year

The number of EU bankers earning more than €1m has reached new highs after Brexit as lenders shift more key staff to the continent.

High-earning banker numbers in the European Union increased by 41.5% in 2021 t0 reach 1,957, according to new figures from the European Banking Authority — the highest figure since the regulator started tracking those earning over €1m in 2010.
