LSE turns to BofA Merrill for new equities head

A highly-respected market structure consultant will take on the new role within the LSE's secondary markets team

The London Stock Exchange Group has hired a senior Bank of America Merrill Lynch executive into a newly-created role as head of equities, the latest in a string of changes to the UK exchange's secondary markets team.

Brian Schwieger, managing director of execution services at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, will head up the LSE's equities business, according to three individuals with knowledge of the move.
