John Bridgeman, former director general of the UK Office of Fair Trading (OFT), has joined a UK corporate communications firm to specialise in offering companies regulatory advice, particularly on merger and acquisitions.

As an executive director at Cardew & Co, Bridgeman will be responsible for establishing a new unit to support clients dealing with the increasing complexity of domestic and international regulatory requirements, particularly in M&A advising and trading activities. Cardew's client list includes BAE Systems, United News & Media, and Eurotunnel.
