All3Media, the television production company owned by UK buy-out firm Bridgepoint, has bought Mersey TV, a rival firm and the largest independent UK producer of drama, in a deal estimated to be worth £40m (€60m).

The purchase is the latest in a series of acquisitions since the private equity firm first supported the buy-out of All3Media, formerly Chrysalis TV, for £45m in July 2003.
