John Wilford, chief executive of corporate finance house British Linen Advisers and former managing director at Lazard, has joined Compass Advisers, the corporate finance boutique, as a partner.

Based in London, Wilford will focus on the general industry and manufacturing sectors. Wilford is the second partner to join the firm's London office since Bill Harrison, former global head of investment banking at Deutsche Bank, arrived in 2002.
