Brokers settle NASD mutual fund probe

Four brokerages, including Morgan Stanley, agreed to pay a collective $43.8m (€33.61m) fine to settle charges that they overcharged customers who bought mutual funds, bringing to a close another chapter in the ongoing mutual fund investigations.

The NASD said Edward D Jones, RBC Dain Rauscher, Royal Alliance and Morgan Stanley failed to adequately supervise their brokers who sold mutual funds.
