Electronic bond broker BrokerTec Global has confirmed for the first time that it has been approached by a number of parties about a range of strategic alliances which may or may not include a full takeover.

BrokerTec would not say whether Icap, the world's biggest interdealer broker, is one of those parties, despite speculation that it is in talks with the electronic broker.
