Wealth manager Brooks Macdonald has given its lowest earners a £1,000 pay rise, as pressure ramps up on the City to help employees through the cost-of-living crisis.

Staff at the investment house who are earning £50,000 per year or less received the increase, a source close to the situation told Financial News.
