US investment house Brown Advisory has removed the phrase ‘ESG’ from some of its marketing materials, as a political backlash in the US has prompted firms to reconsider how they package green investing strategies.

The three-letter initialism was previously used to describe fund objectives and screening processes for several of the Baltimore-headquartered firm’s sustainable strategies, according to 2023 factsheets seen by Financial News.
