European regulators have recast new trading rules to close a perceived loophole that could have undermined their goal of shifting more trading of equities onto stock exchanges.

The European Commission's re-write of a key element of the revised Markets in Financial Instruments Directive comes after a four-week consultation, which closed on July 18.
