A group of bus drivers will this week stage the UK's first employee-led shareholder revolt, when they criticise their managers at transport company FirstGroup over workplace rights.
The motion has been lodged by 117 small investors who are also employees of the bus and train operating company, and calls for a new workplace rights policy for the group. The investors â mainly UK bus drivers â are angry about "allegations of poor labour and employment practices" at the group's US schoolbuses subsidiary, First Student, mostly in relation to union recognition.
