Business groups called for more clarity on the UK government’s plans to ease lockdown restrictions and ensure worker safety, after foreign secretary Dominic Raab was this morning obliged to correct advice given by the prime minister only yesterday.
Speaking to BBC Radio 4 on 11 May, Raab said people should be returning back to work from 13 May. This came in contrast to Johnson’s message that workers in manufacturing and the construction industries should go back to work if they cannot work from home from 11 May. Johnson had also said that for the majority, confinement will continue for the time being.
