Buy-out firms seek Portugal Telecom partner

A private equity consortium, mulling an €11bn ($13bn) bid for Portugal Telecom, has contacted the chairman of Grupo Media Capital, a Portuguese broadcaster, about participating in the deal.

Portuguese newspaper Diario de Noticias reported that the consortium, which includes Warburg Pincus, BC Partners, Texas Pacific Group, Apollo Management, Silver Lake Partners and Bain Capital, has asked Miguel Pais do Amaral, chairman of Media Capital, to join them in bidding for the company.
