Cairn Capital, the specialist asset-manager, has hired Stephan Michel from Barclays Capital to head its credit research team.

Michel, who starts this week, joins Cairn after five years at Barclays Capital where he was co-head of European credit research. He was responsible for advising clients on a variety of sectors including, telecoms and media, tobacco, automotives and industrials.
