A US freedom of speech lobby group has filed a lawsuit demanding that Calpers, the US's largest pension fund, disclose fees paid to individual private equity firms.

The $130bn-plus fund for California's public employees said it had not reviewed the lawsuit filed by the California First Amendment Coalition, which describes itself as a "public benefit non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting and defending people's right to know".
