The California Public Employeesâ Retirement System, the largest US state pension fund and one of the countryâÂÂs biggest investors in private equity, could lose its chief executive a week after its chief investment officer resigned.
Chief executive Fred Buenrostro could leave the fund by the end of the year, according to two people cited by newswire Bloomberg. Buenrostroâs departure would follow the resignation of chief investment officer Russell Read last week.
