Calpers to make moves on the private sector

The $225bn (€173bn) California Public Employees' Retirement System may start managing pension assets for companies outside the public sector within the next three years.

Bloomberg reports the suggestion was made by the fund's chief investment officer, Russell Read, at a board meeting held yesterday. Read said the move would open up a significant new source of income.
