Calpers to stop publishing fund perfomance data

California Public Employees' Retirement System (Calpers), the world's largest pension fund, will no longer publish private equity performance figures on its website, following feedback from disgruntled private equity managers.

The move is a blow to calls for greater transparency in private equity returns reporting. Calpers' concession allows private equity funds to shelter once again under a shroud of secrecy.
