The private equity arm of Canadian pension giant Omers has hired Matt Baird from advisory firm Alvarez & Marsal to be its first Europe-based operating partner, a spokesman confirmed.

Baird was previously a managing director at A&M responsible for improving performance in client companies. He will work with management teams across Omers’ investment portfolio, which includes UK cinema chain Vue, to help drive growth and improve how the companies are run, write William Louch and Ed Ballard for FN's sister publication Private Equity News.
