Canadians pushing into Hungarian pensions

CDP Global Asset Management, a subsidiary of the Caisse de dépot et placement du Quebec, has acquired 80% of Stabilitas, the Hungarian pension funds company.

CDP is buying the stake from the Hungarian army and department of agriculture. The two funds will each retain a 10% minority holding in Stabilitas. The fund is expected to grow to C$200m by 2004.
