Candover Investments aims to return cash by 2016

Candover Investments says it will be in a position to 'progressively' return cash to shareholders after suffering liquidity problems in the wake of the financial crisis

Private equity investor Candover Investments, which became one of the highest-profile casualties of the financial crisis when it went into run-off, expects to return all cash to shareholders in four years, according to its latest results.

The UK-listed investment trust said this morning in its results for last year that it could return capital to investors by 2016 as Arle Capital Partners, the buyout firm in which Candover Investments is a cornerstone investor, seals exits from its portfolio.
