Icap's chief executive, Michael Spencer, had a passionate dislike of Cantor Fitzgerald and was determined to see its demise, whatever the cost, Cantor's lawyer has told the UK High Court.

Andrew Hillier, QC for Cantor Fitzgerald, said in his summing up of Cantor's lawsuit against Icap that its rival was determined to bring about the collapse of Cantor by lifting out rival employees.
