Cantor Fitzgerald stops Venezuelan bond trading

Move comes days after the US Treasury Department slapped financial sanctions on the country for undermining democracy

Cantor Fitzgerald stops Venezuelan bond trading

Cantor Fitzgerald has stopped trading Venezuelan debt, days after the US Treasury Department slapped the country with financial sanctions for undermining democracy, write Anatoly Kurmanaev and Matt Wirz for The Wall Street Journal.

Venezuelan debt had been among the most easily buyable emerging market bonds, but trading in such instruments has slowed significantly this week reflecting both late-summer activity levels and investors' efforts to assess the impact of the US sanctions.
