Cantor poaching claims are "absurd", Spencer tells court

Amaitis rejected "no poaching" agreement, Icap alleges

Accusations that arch rivals were out to poach staff and "destroy' London broker Cantor Fitzgerald after hundreds of its employees were killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks have condemned as "patently absurd" in the High Court.

A judge had been told that, while other US and international companies rallied to help the devastated company, premier competitors Icap were attempting to exploit the tragedy by arranging "a heist' of key brokers.
