Cantor Fitzgerald has hired the former deputy head of Prebon Yamane in Asia and is thought to be close to hiring at least one other senior derivatives broker from its rival.

Mark Spring, who had been named as part of the Far East management team at the brokerage formed by the recent merger of Prebon and a subsidiary of Collins Stewart Tullett, is joining BGC Partners, Cantor's voice broking business, in Singapore.
