Capital Z Investment Partners, the $2.25bn (€2.1bn) US-based alternative investment firm that backs private equity and hedge fund managers, has appointed John Crocker from Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB).

Crocker was previously a vice-president in CSFB's private equity fund-of-funds business. Crocker also played an important role in building the alternative investments business at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette before it was bought by Credit Suisse.
