Private equity placement agent Capstone Partners has boosted its presence in Asia with new hires targeting Singapore and India, at a time when buyout firms are stepping up their fundraising efforts in the region's "dynamic" markets.

Capstone is planning to open a new office in Singapore to be lead by Alexandre Schmitz, according to a statement. Schmitz joins from the Copeba Group, an investment company which became independent from BNP Paribas in 2004.
