Career Clinic: Must I disclose my depression?

I have verbally accepted a new job but I am concerned that my new employers may want details on my medical history. I have suffered from depression. Will I need to disclose this?

Now that you have received a job offer, generally speaking, it is not unlawful for your employer to ask you questions about your health and medical history. This is in contrast to the pre-offer stage when they would have been allowed to ask about your health only in specific circumstances.
