My team has been disbanded but my bank is refusing to make me redundant and is instead insisting that I transfer to another department where I feel I cannot use my skills. What are my options?

It sounds like you are redundant as the bank has "a reduced requirement for employees to carry out work of a particular kind", but that the bank is seeking to persuade you to accept a role that it considers to be "suitable alternative employment".
