Institutional investors in Carillion have questioned the effectiveness of the construction giant's auditors and non-executive directors in the years leading up to its collapse in January.

Giving evidence to the UK's Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee and Work and Pensions Committee, executives from Aberdeen Standard Investments, Kiltearn Partners and BlackRock were quizzed on the extent to which they engaged with Carillion as shareholders.
