Carlyle adds to Japanese momentum with ¥50bn buy-out fund

Carlyle, the global private equity firm, has closed a ¥50bn (€371m) Japanese buy-out fund, adding to US and European firms' growing interest in the country as a centre of buy-out activity.

Nearly 60% of the fund's commitments come from Japanese institutional investors with most of the remainder secured from North American and European institutions. Some high net worth individuals have also invested.
