Carlyle buys healthcare firm for $6.3bn

The Carlyle Group has purchased Manor Care, a US long-term healthcare provider, in an all cash $6.3bn (€4.6bn) transaction, as multibillion-dollar deals for the sector grow in value but dip in volume.

The agreement reached by the global private equity group values Manor Care's stock at $67 a share.
