Carlyle expands European venture capital arm

Carlyle Group, the US private equity house, has made two appointments to its European venture capital arm, Carlyle Europe Venture Partners.

Carlyle has hired Wouter Moerel and Claudio Giuliano to manage the telecommunications sector. Moerel will concentrate on services, while Giuliano will focus on the technology side. CEVP, which is a €730m ($651.1m) fund, now employs 10 professionals.
