Carlyle explores sale of Queen's carpetmaker Brintons

US buyout giant Carlyle Group has appointed advisers with a view to selling its stake in Kidderminster-based carpet manufacturer Brintons Carpets, people familiar with the matter said.

Carlyle is understood to be working with investment bank William Blair on a potential sale.
