Carlyle raises $4.6bn for new credit and infrastructure funds

Private equity firm is broadening the mandate of two of its core strategies

Carlyle Group is broadening the mandate of two of its core strategies with a new $2.4bn fund devoted to credit opportunities and a $2.2bn vehicle for infrastructure investing globally.

The private equity firm’s inaugural credit opportunities fund had a $2bn target when the firm began marketing the vehicle in 2017. Including available leverage, the fund will have $3.1bn available to invest.
