One of continental Europe’s most successful asset management firms, which has quadrupled its assets under management to €50bn in the last 18 months, is set to launch an assault on the UK next year.

Carmignac Gestion, a French funds house with one of the best-performing and best-selling funds since the financial crisis, is planning to enter the UK market "next year", according to founder and chief executive Edouard Carmignac.
