Carney and Bloomberg’s climate pressure starts to pay off

Businesses have pledged to cut at least 453 megatonnes of CO2 emissions a year by 2030, according to new analysis – slightly less than a third of what they need to do to prevent dangerous climate change.

The figure is a rise from a year ago, when these firms had only pledged to do 25% of what is needed to keep warming below two degrees.
