Mark Carney, the governor of the Bank of England, is the latest to fall foul of an email exchange with the prankster who tricked Barclays chief executive Jes Staley earlier this month.
The hoaxer, who asked to remain anonymous, pretended to be Anthony Habgood, the chairman of the Court of the Bank of England, and contacted Carney from a fake email address, anthonyhabgood@hotmail.com.
