Mark Carney to stay on at Bank of England until 2020

Governor agrees to extend term beyond June 2019 to help ease the UK through Brexit

Britain’s finance ministry said on Tuesday that Bank of England governor Mark Carney had agreed to extend his term until the end of January 2020, according to a Reuters report.

Carney had been due to stand down in June 2019, after a six-year tenure at the top of the central bank.
