Carnival's increased offer for P&O Princess Cruises may yet persuade Princess shareholders to delay their vote on a Royal Caribbean merger, according to deal sources, thus paving the way for formal talks between Carnival and Princess.
Ideally Carnival would like its latest offer to be the spark for talks before Princess holds a meeting to vote on the Carribean merger. Sources close to the three-way skirmish said that Princess would be prevented from talking to Carnival by the "no-shop provisions" in its agreement with Carribean.
