A US congressman has called for UK libel lawyers from law firms such as CMS, Carter-Ruck and Harbottle & Lewis to face US visa bans over their work for Russian clients.

“I urge you to place travel bans on foreign enablers of Russian oligarchs,” US representative Steve Cohen wrote in an 18 April letter he posted on Twitter to US secretary of state Antony Blinken.
